Mit der Ausstellung „Golden Arbeit“ präsentieren Babak Behrouz, Nick Koppenhagen, Eva Könnemann, Marco Kunz, Katja Lell und Laura Nitsch die gleichnamige, mehrteilige (Video-)Installation zu ihrem Filmprojekt „Material Beton“. Über einen Zeitraum von zweieinhalb Jahren haben sie das Unterfangen erprobt, kollektiv einen Film zu machen. Er handelt auf verschiedenen Ebenen von sich selbst und den Dynamiken von Austausch, Kritik und Integration der verschiedenen Persönlichkeiten, Ansätze und Perspektiven. Entstanden ist ein zweiteiliger, selbstkritischer und offensiver Film. Der erste Abschnitt entwickelt eine Erzählung über die Gruppe und ihre beiden Arbeitsformen und die Problematiken, gemeinsame Lösungen zu finden. Die Bilder und die Gespräche bereiten vor, was danach kommt: Den Abbruch des gemeinsamen ersten Teils und die Öffnung des Films in die Vielstimmigkeit. In der Ausstellung „Golden Arbeit“ setzt sich die Spannung zwischen (Einzel-)Interessen und Zusammenarbeit fort. Die verschiedenen Arbeiten der Künstler_innen lassen die Dynamik der Entstehung des Films sichtbar werden und die Schwierigkeit, etwas, das allen Beteiligten wichtig ist, gemeinschaftlich auszuhandeln. Film und Ausstellung drehen sich einerseits um den Prozess künstlerischer, bzw. filmischer Arbeit und seine Beobachtung. Andererseits sind es grundsätzlich demokratische und kollektive – also in letzter Instanz gesellschaftliche – Strukturen, die hier in ihren Möglichkeiten und Schwierigkeiten zum Vorschein kommen. _______ In the exhibition “Golden Arbeit” Babak Behrouz, Nick Koppenhagen, Eva Könnemann, Marco Kunz, Katja Lell and Laura Nitsch will present the eponymous, multi-part (video) installation on their film project entitled “Material Beton” (Material Concrete). Over a period of two and a half years, they have tried to make a movie collectively. It is a self-reflexive film, taking place on four different levels and focussing on the dynamics of exchange, critique and integration of the different personalities, approaches and perspectives. The result is a two-part, self-critical, combative film. The first section develops a narrative about the group and its two ways of working as well as the problems arising from the quest for common solutions. The images and the conversations lay the groundwork for what comes next: breaking off from the first communal section and the opening up of the film in its distinct, individual voices. In the exhibition "Golden Arbeit", the tension between (individual) interests and cooperation is perpetuated. The various works of the artists involved render visible the dynamics involved in the making of the film, as well as the difficulty of negotiating something collectively that is important to each individual. On the one hand, both the film and the exhibition revolve around the processes of artistic, i.e. cinematic work and observing it as it unfolds. Yet what also emerges are the democratic and collective – ultimately social – structures that come to the fore with all their inherent possibilities and difficulties.
